XVIII – Azulejo & Faiança is a Portuguese boutique atelier and shop specializing in hand-painted tiles and pottery, inspired by 18th-century traditions. Each piece is crafted by hand using traditional methods, embracing natural imperfections and irregularities to make each item unique. Beyond reproducing traditional designs, they also produce reinterpretations and new creations by both emerging and established artists. They also accept custom projects, such as the restoration of old tiles or the creation of bespoke panels. Their retail locations are more than mere shops — they function as shop-workshops, where visitors can observe the manufacturing and live painting process. The brand was founded in 2018 by a team combining artistic passion and ceramic experience, aiming to revive the “soul” of Portuguese tile and pottery craftsmanship in an age of mass production. They maintain two physical shops in Lisbon: one in Alfama (Largo de Santa Luzia, 9) and another in Chiado (Rua do Alecrim, 68).
